All payment processing has a $6.45 fee added.

This service is designed for civil disputes involving less than $30,000, as well as non-monetary disputes that may not involve a specific dollar amount. AEP provides a neutral setting where parties can communicate about the issues involved, explore possible solutions, and work toward a mutually acceptable agreement.

Lower civil mediation may be appropriate for County Civil and Small Claims matters, as well as disputes involving HOA issues, property and neighbor disputes, non-monetary contract disagreements, school or workplace conflicts, and other civil matters.

Examples of monetary disputes under $30,000 include real estate deposit disputes, employment or labor disputes, landlord-tenant matters, evictions, car accident insurance disputes, commercial business disputes, breach of contract matters, and other contract-related issues.

Mediation can be used before a court case is filed, while a case is pending, or after a case has been filed when the parties are seeking to resolve some or all of their disputed issues. If the parties reach an agreement during the mediation session, the mediator can assist with documenting the terms agreed upon.

Mediation is confidential, subject to applicable laws and exceptions. Parties may choose to participate in mediation before deciding whether additional legal assistance or court proceedings are necessary.
