Our online notary services allow you to meet with a notary remotely, complete the required identity verification, electronically sign your documents, and receive your finalized notarized documents online. You do not need to be physically located in the same state or country as your notary.

How Remote Online Notarization Works
Remote online notarization allows you to complete the notarization process electronically while meeting with your notary through a secure online platform. You do not need to travel to a physical notary office or be located in the same state or country as your notary.
Before your online notarization session, the required documents and identity information are submitted through the online process. Identity verification and required security checks are completed before you meet with the notary.
During the session, you will meet face-to-face with the notary through audio and video, electronically sign your documents, and complete the required notarial acts. Once the process is complete, you will receive your finalized notarized documents electronically.

Remote Online Notarization Preparation Checklist
Before scheduling your online notary session, please make sure you are prepared:
- Review all documents carefully and make sure the information is correct. Do not leave blank spaces. If a section does not apply, enter “N/A” when appropriate.
- Have all unsigned documents ready to upload in Word or PDF format.
- All signers must be prepared to upload a clear photo of an unexpired, state-issued identification document, driver’s license, or passport.
- Ensure you have a strong internet connection on the device you will use for your online notary session.
- Your device must have a functioning camera and microphone, as well as a way to electronically sign documents using a mouse, stylus, or finger.
- All required signers must be present. If your document requires a witness, the witness must also be present. If you need assistance finding a witness, ask us about available options.
- With the signer’s consent, individuals who are assisting the signer may be present during the online notarization process.
- Be prepared to provide your Social Security number and/or answer knowledge-based authentication questions when required. This identity verification is completed through a secure automated system before the online notarization session begins and is not conducted directly by the notary.
Booking & Attending Your Notary Session
Once you have reviewed the preparation checklist and are ready to schedule, visit our Notary Session Request page and complete the request form with the requested information.
Depending on the information provided in your request, you may be contacted by phone or email so that your notary can coordinate a date and time for your session.
Once your session is scheduled:
- You will receive a link for your online notary session.
- When you open the link, you will be taken to your session dashboard. Most information will already be completed for you.
- If you have additional documents to upload, you can upload them through the dashboard. The booking form allows up to four document files, but additional files can be uploaded through the session dashboard when necessary. A document file may contain multiple pages. For example, a three-page school form saved as one PDF counts as one document file.
- You will complete the required payment.
- You will upload your identification document and complete the required knowledge-based authentication.
- You will meet with your notary through the online audio/video session and electronically sign your documents.
- Your finalized notarized documents will be provided electronically.
If you accidentally close the page where you can download your completed documents, don’t worry. Your finalized documents will also be sent to you by email.
What Is Remote Online Notarization?
Remote online notarization, often referred to as RON, is a form of notarization performed electronically using audio-video communication technology. Instead of meeting with a notary in person, the signer and notary meet through a secure online platform.
The signer completes the required identity verification, meets with the notary through live audio and video, and electronically signs the document. The notary then completes the required notarial act and provides the finalized notarized document electronically.
Remote online notarization makes it possible to complete the notarization process without traveling to a traditional notary office. The signer may be located anywhere permitted by the applicable requirements, while the notary must be physically located in the jurisdiction where they are commissioned and authorized to perform the notarial act.
